Friday 3 February
Today is our last day in Munnar and we decided to visit the Pampadum Shola National Park some 39 kms from Munnar.
We arranged for guide as we did not really know what to expect at the Park itself. As we climbed out of Munnar despite the bright start to the day the cloud thickened.
Arriving at the Park we were informed that as things were so wet there would be leeches ! After a few moments hesitation we agreed to a revised route and paid the Rupees 1400 entrance and ranger guide.
For Rupees 150 each we were kitted out with cotton gaiters which tied up at our needs. Suitably protected we headed off down the track.
Given the mist and the rain wildlife was in short supply however we did see various birds and Langur Monkeys. THe leeches wee easier to spot mostly on us !
