Sunday 19 November
At 0600 the generator burst into life and the day began. Stuart having gone for a pee during the night saw the night fishermen drifting by and thought we were about to be boarded by pirates. In the event they were more interested in the early morning catch and getting it to market.
After breakfast on the deck the first stop was a silk weaving village just south of Guwahati. A ride in an electric tricycle - a first - took us to a weavers. The silk is all spun and woven by hand and it takes a week to weave a sari length. Luckily we did not need a sari but did buy a couple of pieces !
Back to the boat we started our journey upstream in a leisurely manner mooring once more on a sandbank for drinks by the fire and dinner on the deck
