30 December 2011 - the Tonle Sap River is fed by Tonle lake which is a slightly strange natural phenomena in that it fills when the Me Kong is in flood and empties as the river level falls in summer thereby regulating the flow of the lower Me Kong and supporting the millions of people who live on its banks in lower Cambodia and Viet Nam.
