Sunday 30th & Monday 31st December
Having finally come to rest by the Mekong we decided that a couple of days rest at the River Resort was in order.
Champasak town is a typical riverside strip. During the French times it was the provincial capital and one or two dilapidated Colonial buildings remain. Seemingly once a residence of the now gone Lao royal family. We had lunch in town at the riverside Nakhorn Cafe (with some very nice rooms attached).
New Years Eve was our final night with dinner at the hotel before setting off on 1 January to return to a cooler Hong Kong.
