31 December 2012 - the hotel has a nice pool but unfortunately unless you are there early not benches ! So we headed in search of an ATM. We were reliably informed that there was one a 5 minute walk away at the Catholic Syrian Bank - unfortunately it did not seem to be linked to the international system. A cliff top cappuccino and a massage helped over come our disappointment !
A New Year's Eve buffet with entertainment was included in our stay. This was held in the unlikely venue of the hotel tennis court which had been decorated festively for the occaison. Entertainment was provided and it ranged from a display of Keralan martial arts, a local Conjurer (with help from Trevor) and perhaps somewhat more bizarely a local dance group who speciality was Michael Jackson impersonations. As it turned out they were very good no doubt as things are quiet in Kerala there is a lot of time to practice the co-ordinated moves !
To accompany the vegetarian buffet (with cheese !!) we had our first bottle of fruity Big Banyan Rose !
