Thursday 16 November
The alarm went at 0520 as we were off on a short Elephant Safari at 0600. The Park entrance is not far from the hotel and there we climbed aboard a female elephant whose calf was tagging along for the walk.
It was a fairly uneventful walk through the scrub on the Park boundary and the largest animal we saw was a boar although there was a family of deer. Then a short walk back for breakfast !
After lunch it was a Jeep Safari.Manus is a large park stretching into Bhutan but apparently the animal density is not that great so it is a bit of a lottery about what you actually meet on the drive. That being said the Park is quiet, at least at this time of year, so the chances are you will find something.
