Saturday 30 November - the ship moved closer to shore last night and anchored in a large bay which was the entrance to the National Park.
As they are reptiles the Komodo Dragons are around in the morning warming up in the sun and so we had an early start with a 0700 Zodiac ride to the beach. The first trip set off at 0600 but unfortunately that one was already fully subscribed !!
In the best tradition of well worn National Parks the world over our ranger took us down a clear path through the scrub. Needless to say as it was a bit of a visitor highway the animals were a bit thin on the ground although we did get a good view of a slug and butterflies. Then in the distance were two deer.
The highlight was at the waterhole where 2 Komodo Dragons sat looking somewhat bemused at the attention they were attracting from the assembled crowds !
