Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 November
The first stop on the journey was Bali and a two night stay in Astari Villas in Jimbaran Bay. Though Jimaran town is not the most pretty of locations and the drive from the airport along the coast road not the most inspiring arriving at the Astari Viallas - a find on Tripadvisor - we were greeted by a stunning pool and tropical Balinese garden.
After a light lunch we headed off for a massage at Ume Massage which turned out to be almost at the other end of the island but was worth the taxi ride.
As the hotel was not located on a main drag local eateries were in short supply but over the road was the Cafe Silik which was part of the Bel Swiss hotel - of which there turned out to be a number on Bali.
Having got up so early we felt a Wednesday morning lie in was called for with a late morning walk down into Jimbaran started the day. Lunch was at Balique which was a modern international restaurant but with a rustique charm. Another massage and dinner at the same place rounded off a quiet day.
