Friday 2 October - we planned another long lie and leisurely breakfast - unfortunately we were woken at 0530 by the renewal work in the resort which heralded the start of the new season.
Coffee time came around very quickly as we headed to the terrace. The highlight was a mystery call to Joy’s room and a proposition for dinner on her return to Yangon. Confused she finally worked out this is less of a proposition and more of an invitation from out Travel Agent.
Cappuccino rolled into lunch at Best One as Stuart wanted lentil soup once more - something we all fancied. Washed down by a beer and wine.
The afternoon passed with a short siesta and a swim in the sea followed by Happy Hour !
While waiting to go for dinner, writing our blog and relaxing in our cabana Joy spotted a movement by the kettle. It transpired to be some form of rodent which nibbled the used tea bag and disappointed wit the Twinning's English Breakfast decided better pickings may be found upstairs in master bedroom. He set off at pace bounding up the tsars like thing possessed - which pretty much describes Stuart’s reaction. At this point turn down service arrived with the helpful suggestion ‘mouse’ ! The search that ensued revealed no trace of the animal. We suspect he or she has been in residence all the summer.
For dinner we headed across the road to Sillom which was recommended in Tripadvisor. OK but probably not quite as good our other experiences.
Back in the cabana we were greeted by Tufty who bounded down the stairs - Stuart was not in the mood for pleasantries. Opening the front door we tried to encourage hime to leave but to no avail. Leaving Stuart to keep an eye on Tufty ( a job he failed in dismally) Trevor headed off to seek out help. He returned with half the housekeeping staff together with brooms, sticks, torches and black bin bag ! Search ensued upstairs with much banging but Tufty was away most likely in the roof !
After about 10 minutes everyone lost interest in the chase and so we tucked the mosquito net in tight, left all the lights on and went to sleep !
