Saturday 5 May - saying good-bye to the Secret Garden we headed north towards Guilin and then DaXu. The town itself consists of two parts a typical new China town and an ancient village consisting of several streets along the village.
To be honest the old village is really in need of some TLC but it is a true reflection of what China was like. Cobbled narrow streets with houses with a small entrance but then behind opening up.
With so much of the old China having been destroyed and replaced by concrete this a true gem and as an original stands out from the "re-creations" that feature over much of China today.
That all being said and hour or so was enough and we headed through the outskirts of Guilin towards the airport in very good time for our flight back to Hong Kong.
