Friday 17 November
Another early rise as we set of on a 0600 jeep ride through the Park to the Bhutan border. We seemed to be the only vehicle on the road and did stop for a lot of wildlife - mostly birds.
We had or packed breakfast by the rive that marks the border with Bhutan and can now say we have been there even if only for a few steps as this was not a manned border post. It seems that people can come and go for about 15 kms up to the next town on the Bhutan side.
After lunch back at base and a siesta we borrowed a couple of bikes and headed of to explore. The road went through the tea gardens and we eventually came across the Tea Factory as work was ending for the day. Not much further on was the local market where we met our guide from the jeep safaris which gave us great street 'cred' amongst the locals as we chatted away.
