Tuesday 23 December
Yesterday our friendly trishaw driver took us to a ‘art school’ - of which their are many in Udaipur. We did in fact buy yet another picture in Rajasthan style and got is framed - as we have many bits of art from our travels awaiting framing !!! However on the way out we met his ‘friend’ who owned a taxi - Tata Indigo - and we had a quick negotiation on a day trip to Eklingi.
We set off at 1100 and the drive was about 20 kms to our first stop Nagda and a small but impressive temple dating to the 12th century
Eklingji itself is an operating temple complex operated by the Mewar family and was highly organised. Unfortunately no photos allowed inside the temple.
